The first GMHS Shanghai (International) Miniature Art Model Expo (referred to as GMHS) was held from March 11th to 12th, 2023, with the theme of "Beyond Craftsmanship, Exploring the Unknown". It attracted over 12000 visitors in just two days.

This exhibition included several major activity sections, the Great Craftsman Hall, Enterprise Forum, Craftsman Star Classroom, and Club Training Stalls. The exhibition was held synchronously with the forum, with four themed forums set up in the main venue, inviting industry representatives to participate in exchange and discussion. At the same time, special booth, standard booth, club and individual booth are set up for micro art model enthusiasts, inviting APEX, Reverse Studio, Aosha Intelligence, and Nuclear Chengzhi Manufacturing more than a hundred well-known art masters, model studios, and civil organizations from the industry, including Adventure Studio, participated in the exhibition, showcasing over a thousand works to meet the viewing and learning needs of the audience.

On March 11th, leaders including Chen Jing, Executive Secretary General of the China Arts and Crafts Society, Zhang Zhiyuan, Director of the Miniature Art Professional Committee of the China Arts and Crafts Society, and Huang Haiyan, Chairman of Dajiang Collection Co., Ltd., attended the opening ceremony in person.

Secretary General Chen Jing congratulated the smooth convening of the exhibition and stated that the mission of miniature art is to protect and promote the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation. The China Arts and Crafts Society actively responds to the national "Traditional Arts and Crafts Revitalization Plan" and works together with all parties to create a new era of development in China's arts and crafts.

On the opening day of the Shanghai (International) Miniature Art Model Expo, Chief Planner Shi Wei delivered a speech: "Miniature models are not toys, but an art form. Art is not limited to age, gender, or nationality. We hope that through GMHS, more people with Chicheng craftsmanship can be attracted to join our family of miniature art!"

This exhibition brought together many well-known enterprises from various industries to participate. It was worth mentioning that the "Great Craftsman Hall", which gathered various domestic and foreign models, such as handmade prototypes, science fiction models, and military and civilian models, was located in a special exhibition area at the exhibition site. Among them, there were many well-known overseas manufacturers and their works that have been exhibited for the first time in China. Secretary General Chen Jing, Director Zhang Zhiyuan, Chairman Huang Haiyan, Secretary General of the Miniature Art Professional Committee of the China Arts and Crafts Society Dong Xiao, Exhibition Chief Planner Wei, and Deputy General Manager Zhou Weijia of DJI Collection Co., Ltd. awarded honorary certificates to 36 "Model Craftsmen" in the "DangJiang Hall".

In addition, GMHS was responsible for Star Ring Heavy Industry, Container Label, and Reverse 27 companies, including Studio, Jiangyu, 3G, Aosha Intelligence, and Tiangong, have presented "Enterprise Special Awards" to recognize their innovation, breakthroughs, and persistence in the field of miniature art. For the on-site training club and personal works, the organizer specially invited judges and professional audiences from Mosonshow to participate in Lanzhou Battlefield Model Studio, Newspaper Creative Model Studio, Ke Zuo, and Simpson& Mingyue and [Time Space Model] Macross Hui presented the "Morrison Special Award" to five live training stand works, which were showcased at this year's "Shizuoka Model Exhibition".

The exhibition has set up a themed variety show called "Model Art Hall" for trendy models, and offered no reserve price bidding for participating model works. The variety show specially invited Mr. Longge, the original owner of the Longge model, Mr. Longge, and Mr. Chen Junle, the organizer of the Orange Model, as guests for the event.

Leaving the exhibition hall of the competition, GMHS invited industry representatives to participate in on-site exchanges in the form of corporate forums, and shared their understanding and prospects for industry development from the perspective of practitioners. Four themed forums will be set up for the 2-day exhibition: Gaoda Prototype Designer NAOKI will answer the questions raised by fans in advance and share the bits and pieces of Gaoda design with the audience on site; Teacher Wu Di collaborated with four scene modeling experts, Zhu Xiaozheng, Huang Yuebiao, Shen Tianchen, and Wu Jiasheng, to have a unique discussion on the creation of miniature scenes; Painter MA will share on-site how character painting art can be appreciated without blind spots; Mosenxiu, the most well-known model competition among Chinese players in Europe, hosted MOSON on site The Story of SHOW.

At the exhibition, GMHS collaborated with manufacturers to set up a "MoPlay Classroom". Brands from overseas such as Bandai, Qingdao Society, and domestic industry such as Orange Cat Industry all brought their unique products to provide visitors with an on-site experience. There was also an exclusive ultra light clay classroom with prototype teacher Chen Mengmei, allowing the audience to experience the other side of the static model firsthand.

The first GMHS was guided by the Miniature Art Professional Committee of the China Arts and Crafts Society, and hosted by Dajiang Collection Co., Ltd. At the closing ceremony on March 12th, the organizers announced that the second GMHS Shanghai (International) Miniature Art Model Expo will be held in the summer of 2024. As the first exhibition in China to focus on miniature model art, we are committed to creating it as the industry's most professional positioning in the field of miniature art models and enhancing brand awareness.
